Project overview
Kerala Gifts is a regional gifting e-commerce platform, specializing in personalized gifts and timely delivery across Kerala. Built on CodeIgniter (CI), the project is ongoing and continuously enhanced to meet the needs of local customers. The site features a custom product catalog, secure payment integration, and a user-friendly interface for both customers and admins.
Project challenge, solution & result
The challenge was to create a scalable platform that could handle local delivery logistics, support a variety of payment gateways (PayU, Cashfree, PayPal, UPI, etc.), and offer a seamless shopping experience. The business required real-time order tracking, personalized recommendations, and a robust backend for efficient management.
Managing local delivery logistics, ensuring timely deliveries, and supporting multiple payment gateways were key challenges. The team addressed these by integrating courier APIs, optimizing the delivery workflow, and maintaining compliance with payment industry standards. Continuous monitoring and rapid bug resolution are part of the ongoing project management.
We developed a modular CodeIgniter backend, integrated PayU, Cashfree, PayPal, UPI, and card payments, and built a custom admin dashboard for product, order, and customer management. Real-time order tracking and personalized product recommendations were implemented. Ongoing improvements include performance optimization, new feature rollouts, and continuous user feedback integration.
The platform now delivers hundreds of gifts daily across Kerala with high customer satisfaction and repeat business. Ongoing enhancements continue to improve operational efficiency and customer experience.
