Cake Flowers Gift is a leading online gifting platform in India, offering cakes, flowers, and gifts for all occasions. Built on CodeIgniter (CI), the project is ongoing and continuously evolving to meet the needs of a growing customer base. The platform is designed for high-traffic e-commerce, featuring robust order management, secure payments, and seamless user experience across devices.

The main challenge was to handle large volumes of concurrent users and orders, especially during peak seasons like Valentine’s Day and Mother’s Day. The platform needed to support a wide range of payment options, including PayU, Cashfree, PayPal, UPI, and all major cards, while ensuring data security and compliance. Additionally, the business required real-time order tracking, multi-location delivery, and a scalable backend to support future growth.
Handling high traffic, ensuring data security, and providing a seamless checkout experience were key challenges. The team addressed these by implementing caching, load balancing, and secure payment integrations. Compliance with payment industry standards and data privacy regulations was maintained. The business also faced challenges in logistics, requiring integration with multiple courier APIs and real-time delivery status updates. Continuous monitoring and rapid bug resolution are part of the ongoing project management.
We architected a scalable CodeIgniter backend, leveraging modular MVC structure for maintainability and performance. Payment gateway integrations were implemented for PayU, Cashfree, PayPal, UPI, and all major cards, ensuring seamless and secure transactions. Real-time order tracking, multi-location delivery, and advanced search were developed. The admin dashboard was customized for efficient order, inventory, and customer management. Ongoing improvements include A/B testing for checkout flows, performance optimization, and new feature rollouts based on user feedback.
The platform now supports thousands of daily orders with minimal downtime and high customer satisfaction.
